Earth Pre-Federation Database - Titan II ICBM Rocket

Diameter 3 m
Length 33 m + 4 m (Capsule)
From ????

History:
Primitive space transport vehicle developed as an intercontinental ballistic missile by the government of the United States on Earth. In 2063, Zefram Cochrane used a Titan V rocket as the launch vehicle for his warp ship, the Phoenix. The Titan V missile-launch complex used by Cochrane was located in Montana.
Star Trek: First Contact
Cochrane's launch complex was filmed on location in Charlton Flats in California's Angeles Forest. The missile interior scenes were filmed at the Titan Missile Silo Museum in Tucson, Arizona. Although the rocket used for the missile silo scenes was a real United States Air Force Titan II, the film's art department labeled it as a Titan V, partially because the rocket engines were changed, but also because a real Titan II wouldn't have had the power to lift the Phoenix into orbit.
