History:
Mineral rich planet admitted to the United Federation of Planets in 2267. Coridan is rich in dilithium crystals, making the planet susceptible to illegal mining operations, which gave some motive to denying Coridan membership in the Federation during the Babel Conference, held in 2267 to consider Coridan's application to the Federation.
TOS "Journey to Babel"
The vote was affirmative, and Federation ambassador Sarek was credited with the Coridan admission.
TNG "Sarek"
On stardate 51474, a Dominion attack force led by Gelnon set its sights on the dilithium rich Coridan planets.

A technologically advanced humanoid civilisation which apparently had strong ties with Vulcan. Rich in dilithium crystals, the planet became an important centre for propulsion technology and trade. In 2151, Archer and T'Pol visited the renowned Coridan manufacturing facility where advanced space vessels capable of warp 7 were produced. They were captured by Coridan rebels who claim that the government led by Chancellor Kalev are puppets of the Vulcans. Held ransom for weapons to progrees the rebellion, Archer was rescued by Shran, although the Tau Ceti accords prohibited the Andorians from Coridan.
