| U.S.S. Brattain (U.S.S. Brittain) |
NCC-21166 |
|
Commanded by Captain Chantal Zaheva. The Brattain mysteriously disappeared in
2367 and was found trapped in a Tyken's Rift near a binary star system by Enterprise-D personnel. All but one of the Brattain crew
were discovered dead, apparently having brutally killed each other. Autopsies conducted by Dr. Beverly Crusher revealed unusual
chemical imblalances in their brains, apparently due to severe REM sleep deprivation, believed to be the cause of the bizarre
violence. The REM sleep loss was found to be a side effect of an attempt by an alien ship to communicate from the Tyken's Rift. The
alien intelligence had apparently been trying to enlist the Brattain crew to help both ships escape the rift. TNG "Night Terrors" The dedication plaoue on the Brattain's bridge said that the ship had been built by Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems, and bore the motto, "...a three hour tour, a three hour tour." The ship's name on the model was spelt "Brittain" by mistake. The model was a re-dress of the U.S.S. Reliant from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, with minor modifications. Star Trek Encyclopedia II The ship was built at the 40 Eridani-A Starfleet Construction Yards/Yoyodyne Division and commissioned on stardate 22519.5. The Brattain carried a crew of 35. Startrek.com |
