Nothing is known about this starship class whose construction seems to date back to the beginning of the 24th century or earlier.
TNG "Unification"
The existence of this study model was revealed only lately in Star Trek: The Magazine. The article suggests that this one could be the earliest version, as it closely resembled the sketches that called for a four-nacelled ship (that looks like it has more power than the Enterprise). It is very likely that the miniature was used in TNG: "Unification", whereas an appearance in "Best of Both Worlds" cannot be confirmed.
