| Delta Flyer | Delta Flyer |
Advanced shuttlecraft designed and bulit by the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager in early 2375. The Delat Flyer featured ultra-aerodynamic contours, retractable nacelles, parametallic hull plating, a tetraburnium alloy hull, unimatric shielding, and Borg-inspired weapons systems including photonic missiles. VOY "Extreme Risk" The ship also employed duranium construction in its hull. VOY "Once Upon a Time" Thomas Paris, who was responsible for the basic design of the spacecraft, incorporated ancient control levers and meters from his Captain Proton hologram into the Delat Flyer's pilot control console because he wanted to feel the ship he was piloting. Numerous other Voyager crew members collaborated on the Flyer's design and construction. On its first mission, the shuttle entered the atmosphere of a gas giant planet on a mission to retrieve Voyager's advanced multispatial probe. VOY "Extreme Risk" The Delta Flyer was seriously damaged during an ion storm when it was forced to make its first planetfall. The shuttle and its crew were trapped in a cavern under tons of rock, but both survived due to the robust construction techniques employed in the vessel. VOY "Once Upon a Time" The Delta Flyer was designed by series production designer Richard James and senior illustrator Rick Sternbach. Escape Pod Galaxy Class |
Automated facilities on Earth, Mars, Rigel IV, and Starbase 326 prodeuce 85% of the ASRVs, with satellite facilities on Velikan V and Rangifer II acting as industry-sources for the remaining 15%. The main impulse engine, a low-power microfusion system for all primary spacecraft maneuvering, is rated at a maximum 950 kg thrust and is fed from a 75 kg deuterium fuel system. Out of four hundred ejecatable lifeboats installed within the Galaxy class, eighty are specialized ASRVs with two additional docking ports to increase the packing density and strutural integrity of the gaggle. Computer simulations indicate that at least 25% of any total number of enjected ASRVs are likely to be the four-port version. Lifeboats are yet another nifty idea that we may never actually get see in an episode. On the other hand, model maker Greg Jein, who built some of the dead starships for the graveyard TNG "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II", put some open lifeboat hatches on the destroyed ships, thereby suggesting that lifeboats were indeed used. Careful examination of that scene shows several different starships, including the Nebula class U.S.S. Melbourne, designed by Ede Miarecki. Star Trek The Next Generation Technical Manual |

| Nenebec | NAR-2066 | Mining Shuttle |
A mining shuttle from planet Pentarus V. The nenbek was pilotec by Captain Dirgo, who was quite proud of the vessel. despite its advanced age and somewhat substandard maintenance. Dirgo and the Nenebek were sent by the government of Pentarus V to transport Captain Picard and Ensign Crusher to a labor mediation on the planet in 2367. During their flight, a serious malfunction forced the Nenebek to crash on Lambda Paz, one of the moons of Pentarus II. TNG "Final Mission" The Nenebek was designed by Joseph Hodges and Rick Sternbach. It was later re-dressed and served as several other ships, including Rasmussen's time-travel pod from TNG "A Matter of Time", Jaglom Shrek's Yridian craft from TNG "Birthright, Part I", the Taris Murn from TNG "The Outcast", and Koral's Toron-class Klingon shuttlecraft from TNG "Gambit, Part II" Star Trek Encyclopedia II |

| Galileo 5 | NCC-1701-A #5 | Shuttlecraft |
Uhura picked up Kirk and company from Yosemite National Park in this shuttle when Kirk "accidentally" forgot to bring his communicator. The Galileo 5 crash-landed in the Enterprise-A hangar deck after being commandered by Sybok at Nimbus II. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier The Galileo 5 was of a different (and presumably more advanced) design from the original Galileo and Galileo II seen in the first Star Trek series. The ship was designed by Nilo Rodis and Andy Neskorommy. The miniature was built by Greg Jein. Two fullscale exterior mockups were built for the film, one of which was later modified and used as a shuttle on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Star Trek Encyclopedia II |

TOS "The Galileo Seven" The Galileo transported Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Commissioner Nancy Hedford from planet Epsilon Canaris III to the Enterprise on stardate 3219. The shuttle was pulled off course by an electromagnetic storm in the Gamma Canaris region. TOS "Metamorphosis" Spock piloted the Galileo into a huge spaceborne amoeba creature that destroyed the Gamma 7A System on stardate 4307. TOS "The Immunity Syndrome" The latter two episode were filmed after TOS "The Galileo Seven", in which the Galileo was destroyed at Taurus II. The Galileo was also glimpsed in TOS "Journey to Babel" and TOS "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield". Named for mathematican and astronomer Galileo Galilei (1564-1642). Star Trek Encyclopedia II |
| Galileo II | NCC-1701/7 | TOS Shuttlecraft |
Replacement for the original shuttlecraft Galileo aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Dr. Sevrin and his followers stole the Galileo II in their quest for the mythical planet Eden in 2269. TOS "The Way to Eden" The Galileo II was, of course, the same mockup used for the original Galileo, with the simple addition of a "II" in the name. This was presumably because the first Galileo was destroyed in TOS "The Galileo Seven", altough it was later seen in other episodes, an oversight on the part of the show's producers. Designed by Rick Sternbach and Richard McKenzie under the direction of production designer Richard James, miniature built by Tony Meininger. The El-Baz was the first shuttle of this type seen; subsequent shuttlepods were re-dresses of the El-Baz. The shuttlepod was smaller than the shuttlecraft, and was used because it was impractial at the time to build a full exterior of the larger shuttlecraft. The El-Baz was named for former NASA planetary geoscientist Farouk El-Baz, currently on the faculty at Brown University. Star Trek Encyclopedia II |

During his return trip, Worf encountered a quantum fissure and caused himself to be propelled into a series of alternate quatum realities. When Worf's quatum shifting was finally discovered, the Curie was used to seal the quantum fissure, by sending the ship back throught the rift and emitting a broad-spectrum warp field. Type 6 Personnel Shuttlecraft |
The Magellan, piloted by Worf, was launched on a rescue mission when Captain Pucrad was trapped on planet El-Adrel IV in 2368. A Tamarian vessel fired on the Magellan, carefully disabling it so that it was forced to return to the Enterprise-D. The Tamarians had sought to isolate Picard and their captain on El-Adrel IV so that they might have a change to learn to communicate.
