	History:
	A scanner probe is a type of basic probe that was used by Starfleet ships in the late-24th century. In 2365, the USS Enterprise-D launched a scanner probe to study the interior of a hole in space, created by Nagilum. After the probe vanished at the boundary of the phenomenon, a class-1 probe with a full sensor platform was launched. The latter probe was enveloped even faster. TNG "Where Silence Has Lease" The same probe model was used to represent both the scanner probe, and the class-1 probe in TNG "Where Silence Has Lease".
