History:
A shuttle-sized type of vessel apparently used to patrol the upper Xantoran atmosphere. The main hull was approximately 10 metres long with a wide cockpit window at the bow and a circular propulsion exhaust port at the stern. Presumably, it only had impulse power and was not warp-capable. The hull was flanked by stubby wings with rectangular pods at the tips, which may have housed weapons arrays or sensor equipment. A particle beam emitter was mounted in the nose-cone. In 2153, an Enterprise shuttlepod was seen off by a Xantoran fighter after a mission to recover a party Denobulan geologists from the planet.
