Kataan Probe

History:
Small unmanned spacecraft launched during Earth's 14th century from planet Kataan, just before the star went nova. The probe represented the Kataan people's attempt to preserve something of themselves by sending memories of their people into space, and transmitted those memories to Captain Jean-Luc Picard, who, in the span of a few minutes, experienced a lifetime in the Kataan village Resslik, as an ironweaver named Kamin. Also carried aboard the probe was a single artifact, a Ressikan flute that had belonged to Kamimn.
