History:
The vessel of the Hekaran scientist Dr Serova appeared identical in shape to the Talarian warship Q'maire. Serova approached the Federation Science Council in 2366 with concerns about the damage caused to a region of space known as the Hekaras Corridor by warp travel through it. When their theories were dismissed they first mined the corridor with verteron mines in order to gain Starfleet's attention. When this method appeared to have unsatisfactory results, Serova caused a warp core breach on her ship, killing herself, but creating a subspace rupture in the corridor and making it unsuitable for warp travel.
