History:
An Antares-calss sublight ship was used to mislead Cardassian forces into atacking what they believed was a group of Bajoran terrorists traveling from Valo I to Valo III in 2368. The ship was empty, but its destruction provided evidence that Admiral Kennelly had been colloborating with the Cardassians. Two Type-3 Galor-class ships destroy the Bajoran Antares-class Carrier in 2368.
TNG "Ensign Ro"
Star Trek: The Next Generation writer/consultant Naren Shankar suggested that the Bajoran cargo vessels in TNG "Ensign Ro" be designated as Antares-calss ships, a tip of the hat to TOS "Charlie X."
